‘I Like You’ is the new single from Cork risers Cardinals, who are gearing up to release their debut album. It’s a typically expansive track, opening with the gentle strum of a reverb-soaked, bright guitar and building toward an enormous drone of a texture, underpinned by distortion and the subtle swell of accordion. “This is the first song we wrote with the album in mind,” they explain. “After a very long period of not working on anything we started and finished this some bright morning last February in our practice studio. It felt cathartic, a completely grounding moment after feeling slightly lost for months.” The debut album from Cardinals, Masquerade, drops on February 13th, 2026, via So Young Records. -Dan Peeke
